Nuala Wines

Where France Meets New Zealand.
Born in Marlborough, New Zealand’s most renowned wine region, Nuala Wines is the inspired union of Old World winemaking heritage and the vibrant, innovative spirit of the New World. Founded in 2010 by French visionaries, Nuala brings together precision, freshness and expressive fruit in a distinctive style marked by an unmistakable French Touch.

New Zealand’s unique geography – surrounded by ocean, shaped by a maritime climate and rich in young, diverse soils – creates ideal conditions for pure, aromatic wines. From the world-famous Sauvignon Blancs of Marlborough to the refined Pinot Noirs and vibrant Rieslings of Central Otago, Nuala pays tribute to the country’s finest terroirs and grape varieties.

At the heart of Nuala is winemaker Paul Martung, a Bordeaux native whose philosophy is rooted in respect for nature and minimal intervention. Using indigenous yeasts whenever possible, avoiding fining and excessive filtration, and working with techniques such as skin contact, barrel fermentation and carbonic maceration, he crafts wines of balance, texture and personality – vintage after vintage.

The name Nuala reflects New Zealand’s multicultural identity, weaving together Māori and Irish heritage. Its symbol, an ammonite fossil, echoes the Māori koru and the Celtic triskelion, while evoking the mineral purity that defines Nuala wines.

Deeply committed to sustainability, Nuala Wines is certified Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand (SWNZ), ensuring responsible vineyard and winery practices across the entire production chain. Nuala Wines stand for elegance, authenticity and place – expressive New Zealand wines with a French soul.
