Quartz Reef Wines is incredibly proud to share that Rudi Bauer has been named The Real Review Vigneron of the Year New Zealand 2026, with Quartz Reef also recognised among New Zealand’s Top 5 Wineries.
Rudi has long been one of the defining figures of Central Otago wine and a true pioneer of Bendigo. His belief in this place, his commitment to careful farming, and his pursuit of wines with purity, character and a strong sense of origin have shaped Quartz Reef from the very beginning.
This recognition feels special not only because it honours Rudi personally, but because it also reflects the values that sit at the heart of Quartz Reef; authenticity,
craftsmanship, place and the long view.
